Alnagar:Media restrictions stain the revolution
Howidy:power civil associations have to stand to SCAF to media freedom
“media restrictions in the last period are considered an insult to the revolution. I respect the decision of yousri fouda to get a step back until a clear vision of the political and media scene in Egypt" said Fahmy Howidy, the thinker & columnist in the symposium "the political mobility in Egypt" in Doha.
Mostafa Alnagar, founder of Justice party "eladel", assured the same meaning,"there is no justification in the time of openness in new media and the new horizon of freedom expression to accept more restrictions on media. No one can doubt in the integrity of Egyptian army, but SCAF should accept differences and criticism as well. the time of Gods are gone"
Howidy adds,"we take slow steps in the democratic transition, we have many barriers but we still on the right direction, syndicates elections are an example of this, we cannot built the regiume short time as we cannot reborn a "complete democracy" now .. we need free and integrite elections. this is the core of the democratic transition and the freedom of expressions like media freedom. T.V is fulfill the politics space"
Islam demonization
"the society shouldn't worry from the democracy because there is a demonization of the Islamic powers in the media, we cannot insure that elections will success the islamic groups. beside, they are not "one" power..there are muslim brothers, Salafi, and islamic groups. we need to the free election without interfering in people's choice"
Alnager said in this context,”Elite want to invalidate people’s choice because of their frightening of Islamic powers, I believe in people’s awareness, that’s what created in Tahrir square push the revolution. we need to leave the “romantic revolutionary case” and work on the people's demands, they don't need constitutional changes or civil council , their priorities are safety and the social justice ..in this way, next elections will be the most positive step after 25th revolution because it will reduce army’s period in the authority”
“Elite and some other reasons such as the media could make youth pull back from the political scene. It is is very dangerous to the revolution and the society”
Military rule forever!
according to a question about the SCAF’s intentions to rule forever and the availability of Turkish paradigm in Egypt, Howidy said,”I think it is not an option because people who ask for army to undertake the transitional period. beside,in turkey, the army was the ruler but the Egyptian army wasn't rule before the revolution, It was a police-state
Alnagar adds,"we were wrong to leave Tahrir immediately after Mubarak’s step down without achieving all the demands, anyway, we need to leave our differences aside and start to think how to create promising future for Egypt. “
another question about copts , Alnagar said,”Copts are victims of Mubarak’s regime and some priests who want to “control” them. some also are isolated from politics and suffered from marginalization . the only solution is establishing the state of law according to citizenship”
