Oscars…..more surprises
This year, OSCARS, the most famous and prominent film ceremony in the world, has taken places in Sunday march 7, 2010 with unexpected prizes and winners. Under the slogan" OSCARS.. as It had not seen it before", 82nd Annual Academy Awards ceremony was presented in the show at the Kodak Theatre in Hollywood in USA by the actors Steve Martin and Alec Baldwin .they made a humorous night for all the audience around the world. The ceremony also was showed the presence of shining and shimmering Hollywood stars.the winners are out of expectation as usual….and here are the winners …
Women for the first time
"There's no other way to describe it. It's the moment of a lifetime", Said Kathryn Bigelow the director of the hurt locker movie .Kathryn was the first women won the prize of directing in the history of the academy. the paradox is that Kathryn is the x-wife of James Cameron, the director of avatar movie who was strongly expected to won the prize!!
The hurt locker is a low-budget war movie directed by Kathryn Bigelow. it could collect 6 prizes from 9 nominations. It was dramatic movie about Iraqi war. the way that Kathryn presented the "good image" about the American army in Iraq rises the questions about how the cinema can serve the americain policy and its complicated ties…the hurt locker gets the prizes of best motion picture, directing, script, editing, sound mixing and sound editing..
More paradox
In acting section …Sandra bullock, the 64-years-old famous American actor won Oscars in her leading role in the blind side movie for her first nomination for Oscars. She could won it from her competitor Meryl Streep. She was nominated for Oscars nearly 14 times and won only two. The paradox also is here…bullock won "Razzies" prize given for the worst performance in her role in "All about Steve" two days before Oscar's ceremony. She is the only performer ever to have been named both "Best" and "Worst" for the same year. In supporting actress role, Monique won Oscars in her performance in precious…the movie who won also another Oscar in best writing based on a novel
On the male section the old actor jiff bridges won the prize in his awesome performance in "crazy heart" movie…It is worth mentioning that it is his fifth time in nomination and first time to won it. Jiff released a cry of joy when he got Oscars. In supporting actor, Christophe waltz ..the Austrian actor could enter the history with his magical role in inglourious basterds. He performed a charming, and evil leader in Nazi forces. Waltz gave Oscars to Quentin Tarantino the director & writer of the movie. "up" won for the best animated film. Argentine entered history by its film The Secret in Their Eyes (El Secreto de Sus Ojos) as the best foreign language film." The Cove" is for the best documentary film.
Big losers
Beside the winners there are also empty handed persons in the historical ceremony …George Clooney the nominated for best actor in his role in" up in the air". He could hide his feelings in a light of drama…second is James Cameron the director of Avatar-the movie of the year -nominated in three categories , went home empty-handed. "Avatar" won three Oscars, for visual effects, art direction and cinematography. The ceremony had gone but the argument has never stopped….
